Here’s a little about me!

 

My name is Monika Filipska, I am an accredited beauty instructor, the proud owner of Beauty No. 8 and a mother of three.

I’m originally Polish, and I first came to Ireland for a two month duration, not knowing much English and not planning on staying for long. After almost 18 years of living in Ireland, a deep passion for the beauty industry and a dream, I’ve continuously dedicated myself to industry training and professional development to build Beauty No. 8 to the business that it is today. I began this exciting journey with humble beginnings from the comfort of my home, driven by a passion for doing nails.

 

Over time I expanded my services, renting a table in an established sunbed business on Main Street in Cashel, and later opening my very first salon at Dominics Street in November 2022. That marked the official beginning of Beauty No. 8, and my dream became a reality. With continuous professional growth I became not only an iTEC qualified beautician, but also a Kohana educator and QQI Level 6 accredited instructor, continuing to build on the business’ quality and range of services. On the 16th of November 2024, Beauty No. 8 opened its doors at 11 Bank Place, Cashel.

 

What was once a nail, eyebrow and waxing treatment business that offered training courses, became a first of its kind training academy in Cashel, expanding its services further to skincare treatments. Although I began this journey alone, the team expanded with two other independent service providers working alongside me here at the salon. 

 

Despite the mix of talent and professionalism that now exists at Beauty No. 8, we are far from finished!
